At Strong Roots Preschool, we turn natural curiosity into early STEM learning experiences. Our Math & Science program builds a learning environment that is enjoyable while children explore and find out concepts in mathematics and science through hands-on activities and guided inquiry.
Young minds light up during everyday moments at our learning space, turning them into scientific thinking. Children learn to count while feeding the classroom pets, learn about patterns in nature through outdoor exploration, and learn about beginning measurement while cooking simple recipes. The teachers at our center guide these discoveries through open-ended questions that further develop critical thinking and problem-solving.
Science is made fun through safe, age-appropriate experiments that allow children to develop a sense of awe and wonder. By observing a caterpillar change into a butterfly, playing with simple machinery made from ramps and pulleys, or making predictions about which objects will sink or float, children learn to observe, question, and make inferences about their environment.
Ideas about mathematics organically interweave themselves into daily life. The children sort colored blocks, make patterns with seasonal items, and count during calendar time. These playful experiences establish a very firm foundation in the knowledge of numbers, shapes, and basic mathematical relationships.
We do like to share our STEM activities along with any home learning suggestions with our parents quite often at Strong Roots. We believe in fostering your child's natural curiosity and laying foundational skills toward future academic success.
